Former Spanish prime minister Jose Maria Aznar recently met with Ayatollah Khamenei in Iran.

During a briefing at the Jerusalem Centre for Public Affairs he reported on his meeting with Khamenei which he labeled ‘tense and harsh’

 Following are some excerpts taken from Aznar’s briefing:

Khamenei said “Israel to him was a kind of historical cancer anomaly, a country to be put in flames and condemned to disappear.” 

Khamenei stated very clearly, “the open confrontation against the US and Israel was inevitable and that he was working for Iran to prepare for such a confrontation.”
